Discover the beautiful landscapes to the North-West of Tallinn and find out the rich history of the area.
Stops on the tour include:
– Keila-Joa. See one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Estonia, take a stroll in the park forest with suspension bridges and stairways. Hear the story of Keila-Joa castle
– Laulasmaa: a scenic beach popular among Estonian windsurfers
– little church located on a limestone cliff (visit inside if possible). For centuries, its belltower has been used as a landmark by seamen
– a light refreshment stop with a view while learning about the importance of this region for Estonians
– Padise. Explore the extremely well-preserved ruins of the monastery from the 14th century, with its unique architecture and special atmosphere. See the nicely renovated Padise Manor next to it.
– lunch in a local spot
– drive past Keila, a typical small town of Estonia

Tour itinerary (Option 1)

NB! The actual start time will be agreed with you and depends on your preferences, the cruise ship arrival time etc. This is a sample schedule:
9:00 meet and greet at your hotel or ferry/cruise ship terminal
9:00 – 9:30 drive from Tallinn to the countryside
9:30 – 14:30 tour in the countryside with several stops and lunch
14:30 – 15:20 drive back to the city
Approx. 15:30 the tour concludes in Tallinn

If interested (and time permitting), we can add in Rummu – a former prison and quarry, located very close to Padise. It is now turned into a small waterpark. The main reason to visit Rummu is the blue light lagoon of the quarry, the ash hills and the remnants from the Soviet era next to it- an unusual combination.

We do have a 6th seat but a group of six would mean all seats would be occupied. Ask for more info if you are a group of six.

What´s included:
– pick-up at your hotel, B&B or ferry/cruise ship terminal
– private guide (Maarja) for the day
– private vehicle, Mercedes Viano minivan with driver (Jüri)
– entrance fee to the ruins of Padise Monastery
– refreshments (soft drinks and healthy light snacks)

What´s not included:
– the cost of lunch
– entrance fee to Rummu Quarry (4 euros/per person) and other optional costs at their territory

Activity level: medium. We can keep the walking to a minimum and choose a shorter walking route at Keila-Joa park forest if needed. This tour is not suitable for people with mobility difficulties though (due to the stairs and uneven surfaces both at Keila-Joa and Padise).

Tour itinerary (Option 2)

For cruise passengers who would like to visit the countryside as well as Tallinn Old Town. We can add in Old Town if we omit some stops on the driving tour.
NB! The actual start time of this day trip from Tallinn will be agreed with you and depends on the cruise ship arrival time etc. This is a sample schedule:
9:00 meet and greet at the cruise terminal
9:00 – 9:30 drive from Tallinn to the countryside
9:30 – 13:00 tour in the countryside, with lunch in a local spot. Stop at Keila-Joa: see the waterfall and walk in the scenic park forest. Visit inside Padise monastery, see the manor next to it.
13:00 – 13:50 drive back to the city
13:50 – 15:50 explore Tallinn Old Town on foot. See the best of both Toompea Hill and the lower town.
15:50 – 16:00 pick up and drive to the cruise terminal
