This Tallinn tour with a private guide is a fantastic way to visit and learn about three different neighborhoods: Kalamaja, Kadriorg and the Old Town. It’s a great discovery tour for first-time visitors to the city. We share stories from history, news about recent developments in Estonia, and anything else you might be interested in.

During the driving portion (1 hr 45 min), we take you to Kalamaja and Kadriorg.
Upon arrival in Old Town, the tour continues on foot (1 hr 15 min). Here, we focus mostly on Toompea Hill – the upper section of the UNESCO-listed Old Town. Then, we descend to the lower section of old Tallinn, where the tour ends.

9:00 -10:45 driving tour beyond the Old Town. Several stops, short walks off the vehicle and many opportunities for great photos.

– KADRIORG, one of the local areas that has always been a prestigious residential district. It has a lovely garden-town ambience with its well-maintained villas and mansions surrounded by lush greenery.

The history of what is now called Kadriorg goes back to the 1700s, when the beautiful Kadriorg Park was established and the Baroque-style Kadriorg Palace was built. Some of the other highlights include the building of the Office of the President of Estonia, and Kumu Art Museum.

– KALAMAJA, a neighborhood known for its bohemian vibe, creative spirit and colorful clapboard houses built from 1870s onwards. However, the story of Kalamaja is much longer, starting in the 1300s as a fishing village to being one of the trendiest areas in Tallinn in the 21^st century.
We step inside the Seaplane Hangars for a few minutes, to get an idea of the unique interior.

– NOBLESSNERI, a revitalized waterfront district close to Kalamaja that mixes industrial heritage (a former submarine shipyard) with modern architecture. Noblessneri has been awarded the title of the best urban space development in the Baltic States.

Then, drive to Toompea Hill in the Old Town, where the minivan service ends.

10:45-11:45 your private tour of Tallinn continues on foot. Take in the highlights of TOOMPEA:
St. Mary’s Cathedral with its elaborate interior details, a beautiful view from Kohtotsa viewing point, Toompea Castle – today home to the Estonian parliament; Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Danish King´s Garden- the supposed birthplace of the Danish flag, Kiek in de Kök tower and the old city wall.

11:45-12:00 We descend to the lower town via the Short Leg Street and walk to the central Town Hall Square.

12:00 The tour concludes at the square.

A frequent question:

How do we get back to the cruise ship terminal/ to our hotel located away from the Old Town?
A private return transfer from the Old Town to the cruise terminal is available upon request for an extra cost 30 euros per minivan.

Other options for returning to the cruise ship:
– on foot it takes 20-25 minutes from the Town Hall Square to the cruise terminal entrance
– the cruise line´s shuttle bus (if provided)
– a taxi, approximate cost is 10 euros per vehicle (seats four)
